Sashiko book cover workshop with Kazue Yoshikawa
Join internationally renowned Sashiko teacher, designer and artist, Kazue Yoshikawa, for the opportunity to learn the beautiful art of sashiko.
Kazue Yoshikawa is based in Kyoto, Japan, where she runs SASHIKO.LAB -- an intimate studio atelier which showcases the centuries-old Japanese stitching technique passed down through generations.
This full day workshop is designed to enable participants to create their own book cover, with expert guidance from Kazue. No experience necessary.
We are thrilled to host Kazue and this workshop at paper boat press, and excited to share this rare experience with you.
Location: the crescent room, paper boat press gallery, 60 Ashgrove Crescent, Ashgrove. Please arrive five minutes early so we can begin on time.
Schedule: 9am - 4.30pm (with an approximately one-hour lunch break)

Cost: $480 per ticket
What will be provided: Tuition by Kazue and all materials, including the cloth (choice of three colours: red, blue, and green), white thread, pattern, and finishing instructions if not completed in class.
A lovely lunch and afternoon tea with sweets from Kyoto is also included.
