every year kylie aims to create a limited edition ceramic ornament that is unlike any of her others. a collector's item.
this past may, when in kyoto at an antique market, kylie found a ‘kashigata’ a wooden sweet mould of a pine cone and immediately knew it was something she could dream into an ornament.
hand pressing clay into the mould, it takes a long time to create even the ornament itself. each ornament, once dried and sponged, is hand painted using three different glazes and colours.
please note as each ornament is hand painted and glazed. each may look a little different, with different qualities.
the pine cone itself has a matte appearance due to wiping back and not letting a high gloss form. the leaves though have a higher gloss.
after much consideration and an instagram poll that was split 51/49, it was decided that a deep red ribbon and a gold ribbon would be included so each owner can choose the colour to string their ornament.
the ornament also comes with a lovely calico bag.
