Working under the name Mud Dept., potter and artist Lea Durie crafts functional tablewares to inspire. Lea uses earthy clays and unique techniques to create distinctive pieces in her home studio in the mountains of the Southern Tablelands in Braidwood NSW, on Yuin Country.
This handmade stoneware ceramic mug has been fired in a reduction kiln to produce its wonderful speckle, and is glazed in a mist white with an overglaze organic spot pattern. The exposed clay base is slightly indented making it ideal for stacking.
Each cup, though similar in design, is slightly different, and the item you receive may not be one of those shown in the example images provided.
