Hand thrown by Momoko Otani, the brown lotus jug is a wonderful example of slip and sgrafitto work on iron-rich clay, that can be enjoyed every day.
Each piece is individually decorated and the jug you receive may not be the exact one shown, however, all are equally beautiful with the same repeated pattern.
Otani Pottery Studio was created by Tetsuya and Momoko Otani in 2008, in the mountains of Shigaraki, one of the 6 oldest pottery sites in Japan. The beautiful designs behind the works are developed from small ideas Momoko and Tetsuya come across in their daily lives.
