The ceramic sculptures of Japanese artist Masae Mitoma immediately capture the imagination. The natural beauty of her surroundings in Hita City, Oita Prefecture informs Masae’s work, which often features organic mountainous forms. Masae employs a wonderful layering style of colour, pattern, and glaze, to create pieces that translate and reflect her unique experiences.
A joy to showcase and study, we are so proud to represent Masae Mitoma’s work in Australia.
We have likened this incredible black and cream sculpture to a checkerboard acorn, which allows for a different viewing experience with each new vantage point.
